This is my second build plate and its just as awesome as the first one was. Only reason I had to buy another was because I printed on it with PET-G and it made the surface layer start to peel. Not Wham Bam's fault. Love how it's magnetic so you can just essentially peel it up and pop your parts right off.
I saw a YouTuber use one of these. So I figured let me give it a try. Well I love it. I use to get Super glue all over the place. It doesn't stick to the mat. Great mat you can't go wrong.
I’ve been using the PEX build-plate for a variety of prints and it performs wonderfully. Adhesion has been flawless, and the plate shows no wear. The surface finish is superior to stock or textured plates, and I’ve had no issues with Z-offset adjustments. Smooth prints without manual tweaking! There’s a minor issue with the K2 Plus camera AI detection picking up ghosting from previous prints, but it doesn’t impact printing performance. Overall, excellent first layers and great surface finishes. Highly recommended!
I love my XTR and bought one for my 12k Ultra and my 16k Ultra! It's easy to use and makes getting prints off the plate so much easier!
I must confess that I bought the kit for 2 reasons
1) Is the mini SLAP silicon mat, that I use daily for the filament purging (when I a cleaning the bed plate. It is so practical and ...aesthetical
2) the 1.75 nozzle cleaner that is exactly the same diameter of the filament. Other kit have a 1.5 nozzle cleaner. With this tool I am sure to "clean* up all the residue
I haven use the "cleaning filament" yet, and hope do not need :-)
I works for me, so only to recommend
The build plates are great quality, and they are the only company i've found that supports the maker select/duplicator i3
Having two removable plates makes resin printing so much easier. As soon as a print is done, I pop off the plate and pop on a new one, and run a new print. The resin vat tool is great for cleaning the vat, I just set my screen time to 60 seconds and pull off a nice rectangular film. The removable build plate instructions were easy to follow, and I haven't had any issues with the adhesive for the magnetic film.
Recently had a clog from a defective (debris) roll of filament. No worries, it can happen easily during manufacturing. This KIT will make your life much easier, if it ever happens to you. Especially on a hotend/printhead in a fully enclosed FDM printer.
Awesome little devices, so versatile. Not only do I use them on my Laser Etching/Cutting machines & 3D Printers, but I have them in my Kitchen as well as above my Breaker Panel. Really just anywhere I deem that might be a possible location for a fire to start. Very paranoid after having the previous house burn down, thanks to a swarm of carpenter ants nesting in my breaker panel overnight one day.
Installed it on my Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra 16K, and was pleasantly surprised it worked perfectly, even after the printer did an Over-The-Air update. Did not require a firmware update, no issues or errors with printing.
The large mat is great to work on, haven't run out of space. The coasters are really handy.
The magnetic build plate with the pex is an absolute must upgrade for the Monoprice mini. No messing with tape when your original build surface wears out. Installation was simple and easy to follow the instructions. I have had zero adhesion problems since using the Wham Bam flexi plate with PEX. I was impressed so much that I ordered a flexi plate with pex for my ender3.
This is almost a required purchase for resin printing, at least in my opinion. No more struggling to scrape things off the build plate. Large parts pop off with a simple flex, and even small ones usually give up fairly easily. And even if they did take as much effort just having the removable plate still makes clean up so much easier. No more cumbersome handling of the Elegoo's large build plate, no more dripping resin all over the table, and no more getting said resin all over the plate pieces as you try to pry parts off. Installation was a breeze, and I've not had to fuss with it since. If I had to list any complaint it would be that sometimes you have to fight with the magnets to get the removable place pushed back into place, but that's really so minor.
I was looking for a plate that I could use that is robust and can fit my bigger print volume. This is it. I will be buying a second one soon.
I purchased this build plate system because it specifically stated that it’s compatible with my Ultamaker 2+ Connect. Technically it is, but I had to cut all the corners so it would fit on my factory build plate. It is my opinion that I should not have had to do any modifications to a product that’s “compatible”. Yes, I know the very terse instructions did mention this modification was possible. Still… Really?
Hi Erich,
We are sorry to hear you are disappointed with the fit and had to modify. Unfortunately, we do not have the Connect version listed as a fit, only the 2+. This older square corner version is discontinued clearance and was designed to fit when the bed clips were removed, but we also have a newer version with the corner cutouts. We are sorry if that was not clear on the product page!
