the MUTANT® is an innovative new Universal Tool Swapping System that allows you to transform your FDM printer into so much more! the MUTANT® gives you the ability to change your hot end on the fly and easily add other tools such as laser cutters, pen plotters, food plungers, ceramic printers, dial gauges, vinyl cutter, and just about anything you think of, all driven by the machine’s mechatronic components!
*A quick note for those not familiar with electrical tasks:
This installation involves basic electrical skills, like connecting wires to their respective connectors with no soldering or firmware updates necessary. However, if you’re not confident in your ability to handle these components, we recommend consulting a certified electrician for help. It's important to ensure everything is set up safely and correctly, as Wham Bam Systems cannot be held liable for any damage to your machine or equipment caused during installation or testing. - Made of glass filled nylon
- 2 large terminals 10 Amp each, 26-16 AWG gauges
- 18 terminals at 3 AMP each, 26-18 AWG gauges
- Can operate at temps lower than 140 C

To mount the MUTANT® to your machine you have 3 options:
- Purchase one of our two types of Universal X Gantry Plate Kits. We offer one for Standard V Slot 3 bearing wheel carriages and one for Linear Rail carriages.
- Download and print one of the many interface plates available and use our included heat press inserts to create the 4 threaded mounts for the MUTANT® Fixed Plate. We currently have plates to fit nearly every Creality and Clone machine, BLV Ender 3, Geeetech A10 and A30 series, Open Builds 3 and 4 wheel V slots, and Prusa i3 style machines. More coming soon!
- Create your own interface plate, use our 3D files, and design the hole positions needed to mount it to your machine, use our included heat press inserts to create the 4 threaded mounts for the MUTANT® Fixed Plate.

I stumbled across this system and it fit perfectly for what I need. Very nice acessories come with it and doccumentation is very well laid out. However this is not a simple plug-n-play system. I installed mine on a Neptune 3 pro and the process to install it was completely custom. Some printers are in the examples and instructions while others arent. Just check to see if your printer is in the instructions and if it isnt its still feasible. It just requires some familiarity with wiring and a multimeter. Im very happy with my installation and am excited to learn how to use this system to its max!
not used mine as needed dual power as two nozzle heaters and this only does one.
One of the greatest solution for having multiple tools set’s with quick change. Only would recommend to reposition connectors on mobile plate to face front of the printer. In overall happy client :-)
