Product Details

the CLOUD® AERO XL is a compact, self-activating aerosol fire suppression device designed to help suppress fires before they spread.

Designed specifically for enclosed 3D printers, heated chambers, HotBoxes, enclosed CNC machines, enclosed laser engravers/cutters, electrical cabinets, and similar equipment, the CLOUD® AERO activates automatically under sustained high heat and releases a condensed aerosol fire suppression agent that interrupts the combustion process at a chemical level.

Unlike traditional powder extinguishers, the CLOUD® AERO:

  • Requires no wiring or external power
  • Requires no maintenance or servicing
  • Leaves minimal residue
  • Is generally safe for electronics and PCBs
  • Has no pressurized tank or explosive discharge
  • Provides continuous passive protection for up to 10 years

The CLOUD® AERO is most effective in enclosed spaces where the aerosol agent can remain concentrated around the fire source long enough to fully suppress combustion.

For open-frame printers or open equipment, effectiveness may vary depending on airflow, mounting position, and fire location. Whenever possible, use inside an enclosure for best performance.

Available in 2 sizes: the CLOUD® AERO and the CLOUD® AERO XL

The CLOUD® AERO is engineered to provide simple, passive fire suppression protection for:

  • Enclosed FDM 3D printers
  • Resin printers in enclosures
  • Heated print chambers and HotBoxes
  • Enclosed laser engravers and cutters
  • Enclosed CNC equipment
  • Electrical cabinets and control boxes

The unit automatically activates under sustained high heat conditions and releases a condensed aerosol agent designed to suppress developing fires quickly at the source.

  • Best performance is achieved in enclosed spaces
  • Mount high in the enclosure where heat and flames will rise
  • Position near likely ignition sources when possible
  • Open-frame machines may reduce effectiveness due to airflow dispersion

Approximate Enclosed Area:

585 × 585 × 585mm

23 × 23 × 23 inches

  • Automatic thermal activation
  • Activation temperature: approximately 170°C (338°F)
  • No external power required
  • No wiring required
  • Minimal residue
  • Electronics and PCB friendly
  • 10-year service life

Designed to assist in suppressing:

  • Class A - Ordinary combustibles: Wood, paper, cardboard, plastics, fabric
  • Class B - Flammable liquids and gases: Oils, solvents, paints, alcohols
  • Class C / E - Energized electrical equipment: Wiring, electronics, motors, power supplies

Simple Installation

No wiring, plumbing, sensors, batteries, or maintenance required.

Each CLOUD® AERO includes:

  • Velcro Hook backing pre-installed on the device
  • Velcro Loop mounting plate with strong 3M adhesive

For best performance:

  • Mount near the top of the enclosure
  • Position above likely ignition sources:
    • Hotend
    • Heated chamber
    • Mainboard/electronics
    • Power supply
  • Keep reasonably close to where heat and flames are likely to rise

The CLOUD® AERO is optimized for enclosed spaces where the extinguishing aerosol can remain concentrated around the fire source.

Recommended applications:

  • Enclosed 3D printers
  • Printers inside HotBoxes
  • Enclosed CNC machines
  • Enclosed laser engravers/cutters
  • Electrical cabinets

The CLOUD® AERO may still provide protection on open-frame printers, however:

  • Airflow may disperse the aerosol agent
  • Effectiveness depends heavily on placement and surrounding conditions
  • Enclosures are strongly recommended for best suppression performance

This allows quick installation on most surfaces without drilling or modification.
